GOALS, GOALS, GOALS!!

It the time of year to re-assess your goals, to look back and think about where you have come with your goals. What have you achieved? What haven’t you achieved?

Yep even look at what you haven’t gotten to yet. Because that isn’t a failure, it is a chance to see if they are the same or if they have changed. If they are the same what held you back? What can you do to help move forward? Learn from the past. What can you do to make that goal next year?

When we make our goals. We might have a BHSG (Big Hairy Scary Goal) that we deep down would like to achieve. And it can be. We just need to break that BHSG down into little chucks. Make it into smaller goals that will take you a step closer to that BHSG everyday.

Set time frames. Realistic time frames too. And knowing that if your goal isn’t achieved by then, that is ok to, just keep working towards it and re access your time frame. But that doesn’t mean slack off, still work your hardest to get to that time frame.

Accountability. Be accountable to yourself, or rope in a friend, or PT to help hold you accountable. I found as soon as I was being held accountable for one of my goals, it made the biggest difference! If you need a accountability buddy let me know. I have an idea!

Measure, measure! How are you going to measure how you are getting to your goal? One of my past tricks is to have a page with a thermometer and points I wanted to get to, as I got to the first goal I would colour it in, and so on. For my fitness I take photos, or measurements. Or even track your workouts to see how you have improved that way.

Work, work. Do at least one thing every day that gets you a step closer to your goal. As you write your goals plan what can help you towards the goal, for example if it is kicking a food habit, take one step towards cutting it out each day, one step at a time. If it is exercise, take that step to book even a 30min PT session once a week. Book in with yourself ways you can move your body three - four times a week.

Anything is possible, anything can happen, we just have to put in a little work to get there.

I hope this helps you a little. If you would like a little more help in setting your goals. More tips on figuring them out, breaking them down, or accountability, contact me :)
